| Retail Management |
 |
Retail Management is a career program designed to prepare graduates to enter the field of retailing with the goal of moving into management-level positions. The two areas of personal development and retail business knowledge are stressed. The curriculum involves classroom course work and practical retail work experience. The student involved in the latter activity is paid wages commensurate with those of other beginning employees of the business. Upon completion of the prescribed curriculum, the student is normally awarded an associate in applied science degree. |

In addition, careers in advertising and other phases of promotion exist. There are opportunities for individuals to work in the accounting function. With declining profits, this area takes on an added importance. Finally, career opportunities can be found in management information systems, real estate, and marketing research. |

| FORE WORDS OF Mr. R. D. LA
C.E.O IIFT |
| "The whole Retail Management Institute program is terrific. It brings together senior executives from leading retail companies to exchange ideas, learn what the issues of the day are-and share this with the students. The institute turns out wonderful graduates; we've hired some each year. It's a program more other universities ought to have." |
